There are a number of difficult areas to navigate when developing connected toys. We have published a range of best practice guides on connected toys to help members understand the factors they should consider when developing or distributing toys that connect to the internet. These guides aim to help members consider issues from product design and function through to data use, privacy and security.
The UK government has regulated consumer connectable products under the Product Security & Telecommunications Infrastructure (Security Requirements for Relevant Connectable Products) Regulations 2023. The new regime will come into effect on 29 April 2024.
