There are major changes to regulations impacting toy companies in both the UK and EU throughout 2025, and beyond. This webinar will provide an overview of new regulations coming into force that companies need to be aware of and preparing for.

The webinar will mainly focus on safety and environmental requirements, such as key updates on:

UK
  • New framework for making product regulations, including toys, under the Product Regulation & Metrology Bill
  • Implementing full extended producer responsibility requirements for packaging, including labelling
  • Proposed circular initiatives including changes to the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Regulations
  • Changes to employment rights legislation
EU
  • New Toy Safety Regulation
  • Digital Product Passport
  • Packaging rules under the Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) and national markets
  • Changes under eco-design and new environmental reporting requirements.
  • New obligations for making green claims and how claims should be substantiated.

Members will be signposted to the BTHA guidance and tools available to help you keep up to date throughout the year and to support compliance.

The webinar is focused on compliance but aims to give senior managers within all BTHA member companies a good understanding of changing requirements in the coming calendar year, and how the BTHA is supporting its members.

Speakers:
  • Jerry Burnie, Head of BTHA Toy Safety and Chair of both the BTHA Technical and Sustainability Committees
  • Wendy Phillips, BTHA Toy Safety Advisor
  • Kerri Atherton, BTHA Head of Public Affairs
  • Emma Wilkinson, Regulatory Affairs Leader at Beyondly

A recording will be made available to full members.
